Why Would I Possibly Need a Survival Seed Bank?
Hey, it’s a fair question for sure… In fact, I asked myself the same thing when I first saw this, I was like WTF!??? Then I read the survival seed bank website and it started making a WHOLE LOT OF SENSE! They had thought the economic crisis through even more than I had and it got be to doing even more research about survival gardening
Ok, I know you may not be ready to hear this, or you may already have a pretty good idea of what is going on in the world today. If the subject is new to you then I hate to be the one to have to break it to you, but “the good life” or life as we have known it here in the USA is pretty much over. Unless you are living in a cave somewhere you already know about this jacked up economy. They are doing everything in their power to try and convince us that its still just a recession, but honestly, we are in a DEPRESSION in disguise, and there is no way out of it… We certainly can’t spend our way out, which is what they are trying to do. It doesn’t even make sense… On the one hand we are giving the greedy banks trillions of dollars and on the other hand we are laying off government workers. WTF??? So basically it’s the most elaborate heist of all time! Take all the money the American Government has (well, actually WAY more than they even HAVE!) and hand it over to the banks! On what planet does this make sense?
Meanwhile we have 15% unemployment nationwide (and that is the ‘official’ number which excludes everyone who has already run out of unemployment benefits and given up looking for a job… and it also excludes the independent contractors who do not even qualify for unemployment because they are considered a ’small business’) But listen, I could go on all day about the economy and why exactly this is all happening, but I need to break this down and cut to the chase here.
The fact of the matter is, unemployment is at an all time high and there are NO JOBS to be found, in fact government jobs are even being slashed. Unlike the last GREAT DEPRESSION where the government utilized tax dollars to put people back to work, this time they have given it all to the banks, car makers, and now with this new health care bill they will be leveraging even more of our future earnings by giving it to insurance companies. This new bill requires everyone to PURCHASE health insurance. Refusal to purchase insurance will lead to a “heavy fine” and failure to pay the “heavy fine” will lead to jail! Thats right, they intend to start locking us up for not buying insurance! Anyway, I keep getting carried away with this because it all bugs me so much. But listen, I have known SOME of these things were coming a couple of years ago because the writing was on the wall when the housing market was balooning out of control. I was one of the smart ones who bought low, and sold at the peak… As I have watched this baloon deflate it became obvious to me that it was even worse than I had anticipated because they just keep screwing it up even more! So, I started researching heavily to try and understand what we are in for. My final conclusion is, TOTAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE!
What can you expect to see during a total economic collapse of a nation (but more than likely most countries in the world will collapse around the same time).
First and foremost will be SHORTAGES of basic human needs, the most critical of which is FOOD! Think about it for even one second and then just ask yourself a few questions… Lets say you are a truck driver for xyz trucking. The dollar collapses and money is essentially worthless. Are you going to go to work to make some worthless money? The same goes for the person picking the produce in the fields, the person at the cannery, the manager of the plant, all the way to the CEO of the company. The bottom falls out of the stock market, do you think a company can continue to pick, truck, can, truck it again, put it in a grocery store (where even more people will work for worthless money), and we will all BUY (with our worthless money) the stuff and they will ACCEPT our money that has little to no value anymore? The same thing goes for everything we depend on… Truth is, SOME people WILL continue to do this stuff for awhile because they don’t know what else to do. The President will go on TV and assure all of us we are going to be just fine… Meanwhile they are preparing for the civil unrest that will soon come when the supply lines break down and people start starving. They will start government ‘bread lines’ and we will all wait in line for hours for our daily ration of rice and beans… Think about it, this is not the first time this has happened, look at the Great Depression, thats what happened there… but this time it is going to be much MUCH worse! See, during the great depression a GREAT number of people were still tied to the farm in some way… The ‘farm’ was never far away, be an an Uncle, or Cousin or friend had a farm not far from town. Do YOU know anyone with a farm? Sure, some people do, and thats great if they are prepared before hand with seeds because when everyone runs out of food, garden seeds become more valuable than diamonds! You see, farming has been industrialized to a HUGE scale since then. The small farm has pretty much been squashed by huge mega farms who took over when the givernement decided to start paying farmers to STOP FARMING. Then these mega farms started ther genetic experiments and created hybrid seeds (aka: Genetically Modified). These hybrid seeds do not produce viable seed. In other words, you can go to the store and buy some tomato seeds, but chances are 90% of what you will find are hybrid seeds that will produce food, but will have sterile seeds in them, and in order to grow more next year you will have to buy more seeds. Well, what happens when the shelves at the store run dry and everyone is fighting over the last pack of hybrid seeds at the store? Do you think there are enough seeds to go around for everyone? Sure, maybe after a couple of years when the seed producers can produce that sort of volume and the population has thinned out a little bit maybe (and thats assuming they will want to accept your worthless money to even pay for them!)
